Description:The Mikanaras are a small clan sometimes known as the rubber tree people. Their kekkai genkai is affected by the Y chromosone, expressing itself differently in males and females.

In appearance all bloodline gifted Mikanaras have two common traits. First their hair is a shade of red, ranging from strawberry to reddish brown or crimson. Second they all have green eyes ranging from pale jade to hunter green. Most of them are tall.

In males the Rubahada gene makes their skin pale but super durable and stretchy. Their joints are also exceptionally limber too.

In females the Rubahada gene allows them to exude a dark latex-like mucus from their skins. The mucus is wet and slippery at first but can harden into a firm yet flexible substance much like rubber. The skin of Mikanara females tends to be medium to dark brown.

Special Effect:

Mikanaras tend to have water or lightning affinity, but some have neither. All clan jutsus must be learned like any other.

Males-

The males of the Mikanara have inherent heightened flexibility and resistance to cuts and abrasions. While not immune to edged weapons it does take more force to break their skin. Mikanara males tend to use their flexibility as taijutsu experts.

Some Mikanara males are overweight. This gives them lots of skin with which to use the "Hodan's Secret Gut Style" attacks but makes them too heavy or inflexible to use the Frilled Lizard Roundhouse, Laughing Stork Throw and Rubahada Patagia techniques

The user supports them self with their hands and strikes the targets midsection while twisting at the waist and twisting one leg around the other. As the kick makes contact they shift their weight onto their forearms and elbows and untwist their legs and waist lashing out in all directions with a double legged, inverted roundhouse kick.

Description:The user grabs the target's shoulders or collar with his crossed arms then turns around arching his back. With the target still in his grasp the user folds up his leg and hits the target with a back kick to the stomach. Using their remaining leg for leverage the user pulls the target over their head then does a front flip axe kick to their prone opponent.

Description:By stretching a wide flap of skin between their shins and forearms the user can glide like a flying squirrel. This does not permit true flight but can be used to control a high fall or allow the user to ride gale force wind currents. Description:Originally developed for spying activities, this technique can be done after some surgery and actual body modification. The user dislocates their joints then controls their softened body with chakra, allowing them to stretch and twist any part of their body at any angle, elongating and even coiling around their opponent. This can also be used to make the user's body more malleable and snakelike.

Due to Mikanara males' naturally flexible skin and loose joints they can learn this jutsu with no surgical enhancement.

Description:Hodan Mikanara wanted to become a ninja but was generally thought to be unqualified due to his overweight physique which limited his flexibility and speed. He used his size (an subsequently larger amount of skin area) to develop his Secret Gut Style Which has been passed quietly to overweight Mikanara males for decades.

The capture jutsu makes the users skin reactive and extra pliable allowing it to absorb small thrown weapons or grab peoples fists and feet. The attacks just sink into the fat and skin and get stuck there.

Some Secret Gut Style ninjas will use Secret Gut Style: Capture to hide weapons in their skin folds beforehand and use Secret Gut Style: Repel to make a surprise attack.

Description:Usable only by Mikanara's of the highest girth and skin volume. The user spins and lets loose multiple whipping pseudopods of chakra controlled skin that bludgeon every target within 6 to 10 feet.

Females-

Mikanara females can create a substance called Dermlatex which is exuded through a subsystem of pores and capillaries under their skin. Dermalatex, like natural rubber is slippery at first then later becomes sticky, then hard yet stretchable. Without training it's fairly useless but if they learn to control their chakra it gives them access to a number of jutsus.

Description:Originally used to frame a member of the Nara clan decades ago this jutsu uses dermalatex to imitate the Nara shadow bind. A thin sliver of dermalatex binds the target's feet to the ground and starts to climb up their body, hardening and constricting them along the way. Unlike the Nara jutsu this is not dependent on light source and is not a genjutsu. It is not as strong the Shadow Imitation or Neck Bind Techniques and only restrains the portions of the target's body it actually covers.

Description: The user produces several hardened dermalatex orbs similar to Mikanara Liquid Fastball Jutsu. The user then kicks and punches the orbs at high speed, causing them to ricochet. With extra control created by water jutsu the orbs can be precisely aimed. Between the acceleration provided by the kicks and punches and the water chakra control over a dozen spheres will be in the air at one, moving at 200 to 300 miles per hour each an devastating everything within an enclosed area. The ricochet effect assures any targets will be hit from all angles.

Clan History:(Should at least be 3 paragraphs long)

The Mikanara clan is a small clan located primarily on Orchid Eel Isle, a small island off the coast of Nagi Island. They're primarily fishermen but the number of ninja amongst them has increased. Ninja schooling was once a family taught tradition but much of it now comes from Hidden Mist Village. They primarily worked as a mercenary clan traveling in small family groups.

The most famous of the Mikanara ninja was Hodan Mikanara who, after initially failing as a ninja, joined the army in the Land of Water under Yuji Matsumoto before studying under Gazichi Akimichi. Like an Akimichi he learned to use his slow metabolism and excess fat to his advantage, developing the "Secret Gut" style.

Over two decades ago an enterprising kunoichi discovered how to use Art of Dermalatex Fine Shaping to craft exploding tags that were completely waterproof and that could detonate submerged. This was a great boon to the clan and brought then considerable fortune for a while. It didn't last for long though. Eventually the Mizukage strong armed an "exclusive distribution" deal with Hidden Mist Village and enforced it with Hidden Mist ninja.

While men from Mikinara Clan have preferred status and subsidized housing when joining Hidden Mist academy the women are kept on Orchid Eel island and used like cattle to produce waterproof blasting tags and quality rubber items, such as dive suits and waterproof scabbards, for Hidden Mist Village. The clan quickly became a strict patriarchy when the older women stepped down under Hidden Mist Pressure. The women who can produce dermalatex are worked hard and even eat a controlled diet to increase their output.

One talented female with a formidable dermalatex reserve, Kaori Mikanara, has escaped from the clan and is trying to ressurect the Mikanara kunoichi tradition in Hidden Sand Village.
