This is Ryuu's standard look. Aside from this he always caries his sword whit him and his normal grey forehead protector is replaced by a black Hidden mist one. He has a red claw shaped tattoo on his right cheek that is called "the harbinger of the deceiver" but that's not seen because he usually has his mask over the lower part of his face.(pic below)



Below is Ryuu's "Shadow form" that he gets whit the Shadow's Hungering technique. In this state his lightning takes on a red colour.



Personality:
The years and the environment of the hidden mist village haven't been kind on him. Ryuu once was a happy and gentle person who always cared about others around him. This was until the darkness came and slowly corrupted his heart. He was haunted by the spirits of the people he had killed over the years and also by the impending doom that was foretold to happen to him. He grew quieter and quieter and pulled himself back from his friends. He became more and more ruthless in dealing whit his enemy's until the day eventually came that he slew his own father without the least bit of remorse. It isn't known if there is anything good left in him now. He generally acts cold and emotionless using his tactical knowledge to destroy his enemy's. This all in service of the eternal shadow that guided him to this path. While he is cold hearted during battle he is extremely intelligent and he makes up for his title as the deceiver. Even tough he is cold and dark hearted he still comes over as his old sweet and gentle self. But this is only on the outside and purely to deceive and trick others as he goes along on the path of the everlasting shadows. Searching for something in the shadows that calls out to him and requires his ever lasting servitude.

Ryuu got this sword to replace his former sword that broke in battle not knowing its name and about the curse that lingers on this sword. The souls of the people that where slain by this sword are forced to haunt the wielder forever until his or her heart has been filled whit darkness. For many years this happened to him until the day that he slew his father and sealed his fate. Now he knows about the nature of the blade but he doesn't cares anymore. The sword is still a masterpiece of craftsmanship and now that the darkness in his heart has won he can manipulate the cursed souls that haunt him to do his bidding in 6 special shadow based techniques (as reference too the creator of the blade the shinkokage).

For the rest he has several kunai, shuricken, exploding tags, wire and all the other standard ninja equipment in his pouch.

History and RP Sample
History:
Ryuu Taomaru grew up in a small village outside the Hidden mist village. Together whit his family he lived poor but happily as they worked as fishers in the wet climate of the water country. But their happy life didn't lasted for long as constant civil wars ravaged the country. Eventually his whole family had to flee from their village before it was destroyed and they found refuge in the hidden mist. It where hard times for them and because they had no much choice they had to send Ryuu to the academy new to be trained as a shinobi and serve the hidden mist. At first he disliked going there but he soon found out that he wasn't the only poor kid there. Eventually his father got work in the administrative department of the Mizukage and Ryuu settled in while he discovered that he was actually quite talented whit ninjutsu. Soon he found himself being graduated from the academy and was a full fledged kiri genin now.

Time passed quickly as Ryuu's skills increased and his life started to brighten up. His family's financial situation had increased thanks to his fathers new job. But the only downside in this period was the death of his mother who had been seriously ill for a long time. Ryuu was training in water style and lightning style jutsu by his sensei and was by far most the most skilled ninjutsu user of his generation. It was no surprise then that by the first chuunin exams he was whit the ones that had gained this new rank. As a surprise his father bought him his first katana as a gift. Being a really fast learner he picked up sword fighting rather easily. Because of his high success rate in missions he drew great attention to himself and by the time he became a jounin he even had found the attention of the mizukage. The mizukage had high hopes for this charismatic youth and saw a bright future for Ryuu. But later would turn out ... that others where watching him too and had already decided that his future would be everything except bright.

It all started when Ryuu broke his old sword in battle and was searching the marketplace for a new one. In a strange new shop he found a old lady who asked what he want. When he told her who he was and what he was looking for she offered him a new sword that she had found in her travels. Despite of the grim appearance of this sword Ryuu bought it without knowing that a person named the shinkokage made that sword and had cursed it. The lady told him she was a traveling merchant and a fortune teller. Ryuu didn't believed in those things but even so she insisted on predicting something. She told him that soon he would come across a small fortune. Ryuu laughed at these words and payed for the sword while he left. Still chuckling he walked back home until he suddenly tripped. Cursing he tried to get up and noticed a small pouch on the ground. When he opened it he couldn't believe his eyes as it contained nothing less then several diamonds ... Could it be that the woman's prediction came trough ? While he wondered about this he returned home.

The next day he returned curious to the old lady saying that he wanted to give it another try. This time the prediction was that soon he and his family would become very important too this village. Again he didn't believed these words and went back to his life while the cursed sword he wielded slowly started to corrupt him. Until one day both he and his dad got a promotion. He became a ANBU captain and his father was the main advisor of the mizukage now. His hart was filled whit doubt as he went one more time to the lady but this time the fortune wasn't so nice. She told him that he would murder his own father. Enraged he struck her down and suddenly she started to dissolve into shadow saying that in his mothers catacomb or he or his father would die since he was planning to get rid of Ryuu. Disturbed deeply by this and the hauntings of the people he killed whit his sword he didn't knew what to do. On the anniversary of his mother his father asked him to go whit him to her tomb.

At that time ryuu's heart was corrupted completely and he didn't wanted to die. He made his choice and when his father knee led down to pray at the tomb Ryuu's sword came down and decapitated the man. Ryuu escaped the graveyard and nobody ever found out what happened to his father since his body was never found again. But soon Ryuu was called on by his new master the shinkokage , the creator of his new sword. Forced to obey Ryuu told the Mizukage that he couldn't do his job well anymore because of the grief for his father's disappearance. Because of this he got his fathers job and was send as a hidden mist ambassador to the hidden leaf village. This way he finally had his chance to head to the call of the shadows that let him know that there was somebody there that needed his presence and his servitude. The shinkokage was waiting.

Jin jawns as he lays on his bed in his new room. He smiles lazy as he looks around and stretches himself out still sore. His whole chest was still bandaged up after the accident he had and today he could finally leave the hospital and found out that his dad had bought them a house to stay. He smirked as he stood up and watched out of the window looking at his father. He was busy talking to that medic that saved him, Ami was her name or something like that. Lately he noticed a change in his father behaviour. He seemed more happy then usual and that in return made Jin happy. He shook his head muttering against himself "Its been quite some time since he was this happy. Maybe staying in this place won't be so bad."He smiles laying down on his bed again and stared at the ceiling. "Not so bad at all."

The next day he was up early again and wandered downstairs exploring his new house. The only thing he saw so far was his own room since he still had to rest a few days. But now he just couldn't stay still anymore. After opening one of the rooms he smiles and steps inside. He found himself in indoor training room seemingly specially dedicated to the Muay thai fighting style. He grins as he walks over to one of the wooden men training dolls ... Mokujin's ... he always found the similarity whit his name amusing. He smiled as he ran his hand over the smooth wood "Well lets see if i haven't lost my touch yet. But what i do know is that they better watch out when i become a shinobi." He grinned as he grabbed the head of one of the the wooden training dolls and jumped up hitting it fully in the face whit his knee. The wood made a awful breaking sound as the head came lose and spined away landing on the floor. "Because the muay thai master's apprentice ... is back."

If he locks swords whit somebody the blade will slowly starts to cut trough the enemy's weapon then.

This attack will cause third degree burn marks on the place where the palms hit the enemy and where the electricity left the body.

When done he lets the enemy fall down and then dives after them delivering one more punch whit all the remaining electricity stored in in at the same time as the enemy hits the ground causing the enemy to be punched into the ground. This attack is highly damaging and can be lethal.

The main purpose of this technique is actually to use the puppets to bind the enemy when they are caught off guard so Ryuu can go in to finish the job.

Description:This is the final technique he gained trough his cursed sword. He gathers all the cursed souls and stabs his sword in his own shadow. His shadow will start to rise up to the sky resembling a huge tsunami and will come crashing down again. every living thing that gets caught in that will get ripped apart by the hundreds of angry souls that gain a physical appearance in the shadow. Only the owner of the blade remains unharmed. This area targets a wide area in front of Ryuu. After using this technique he can't use any of his cursed sword technique's anymore for the rest of the fight.

- Okay, one thing I need to address with your elements. When you are apart of "The Hidden", you can keep one of your original elements, but you have to give up the other to obtain the Shadow element, the very elemental base to all "The Hidden" jutsu.

- Another thing, we aren't accepting Missing Ninja. It seems to me that since you are going for A rank, you plan to be one of "The Chosen" or "The Unchained", being the equivalent of an A rank and Jounin, then Special Jounin. With "The Hidden" being behind village activities and such, you would have to put your rank in "The Hidden", and the rank equivalent beside it, stating your position in the village you decide to reside in. If I understand the system correctly, you can either pose as a village shinobi, advisor, teacher, etc. Correct me if I'm wrong, Tori. ^^
