The Hyuuga clan were one of the founding noble families of Leaf village. The clan itself is said to be the ancestors of the Uchiha clan who possess the bloodline of the Sharingan eye. Each clan member possess the "Byakugan" or "White Eye." When the "Byakugan" is activated, the clan member gains an extra-sensory perception, which gives them penetrating sight and telescopic vision. This allows them to see the internal chakra circulation system in other beings. This vision also grants the member a near 360° view of their surroundings. The higher the skill of the clan member, the further the distance from which they can sense incoming attacks. Unfortunately the vision does have a weakness, a small blind spot that extends outwards from their upper back.

The clan uses this ability in conjunction with their own chakra creating the Juuken (Gentle Fist) fighting style. By focusing the chakra to their finger tips, they can press the tenketsu or chakra pressure points of their opponents body. When the finger nears the tenketsu the chakra is forced out, collapsing the targeted tenketsu for a period of time. The tenketsu serve as the connectors and exit points for the chakra pathways. So when they are stopped by the Hyuuga clan member, the ninja greatly loses his or her ability to utilize their chakra for jutsu.

These great powers lead to internal strife within the family. Because the eye grants such a unique and powerful ability, the clan became possessive and over-protective of it. Seeing only the main family as worthy users and inheritors of the eye, the heads of the clan began to place restrictions on those branch family members not in power. What resulted were two Hyuuga lines, the powerful main family who would represent the line, and the branch family who were directed to protect the main family and bear the cursed seal.

The cursed seal is placed on the foreheads of branch family members. It serves as a means to protect the secrets of the Hyuuga Byakugan eye. If the branch family member was to ever betray the main family or be killed in battle, the seal would be activated to destroy the body's secrets. Thus forcing the branch family to further bow to the will of the main family.

Looks:

Rei has dark locks of hair that reach her shoulders, and her eyes are milky white, like all Hyuugas'. She is only about 5'2", and weighs 84 lbs. Her complexion is fair, and her physique is quite feminine, with a little muscle here and there. Her expression doesn't always match her mood, but only to hide her emotions like a dedicated kunoichi. She wears basic ninja attire; a fishnet shirt topped by a short sleeved hoodie, a skort over fishnet leggings, and matching sandals. Rei wears her headband wrapped around the top of her right arm, and her weapon pouch secured around her waist. She really doesn't look much different from every other kunoichi.

If she isn't in her ninja attire, she is either in her robes or a comfortable kimono. Rei commonly wears her robes around the Hyuuga quarters, and only dresses in a kimono on special occasions. When she dolls up, she also usually puts her hair up. Rei isn't really the girly type, so such occasions are rare and should be treasured by onlookers.

Personality:

Rei would probably be defined as the reserved type, do to the fact she is quite shy and doesn't talk much unless spoken to. However, she can be outgoing, depending on the situation and person, as well as her current mood. She is a smart girl, very careful with whatever she does. She is usually very friendly, and has much respect for her elders. Rei has a kind heart, taking the time to help others rather than herself. She is protective of her friends, especially ones she is extremely close to. She is very easy to please, and has a good time doing just about anything. If something isn't fun, she makes it fun. Her outlook is realistic, but she tends to be really positive at times, coming off as a dreamer. She doesn't mind a little judgment, but she won't stand for criticism or insults. Rei can have quite the temper, and it could be something as simple as a pet peeve to set her off. Overwhelmingly happy and hyper people tend to get on her nerves, so she ignores or avoid them when possible. To compliment her short temper, she is stubborn as well, but almost always follows her elders' orders.

She loves the outdoors, and trains near natural environments as much as she can. Rei enjoys eating out, even if it is something as simple as bringing a meal from home and having a picnic. She is very dedicated to her training as a Hyuuga, and loves to spar, especially if that someone she is sparring seems like a challenge.

Hakke Rokujuuyonshou is a Taijutsu technique unique to the Hyuuga bloodline. Hakke Rokujuuyonshou is a special technique passed down through the main family line. When an opponent is within the clan members divination field of attack, they can quickly begin their assault. The technique allows the clan member to use the Byakugan eye to see the inner chakra coils system. Using the Juuken style, they can force their chakra through their hands into the tenketsu of the opponent's body through 126 strikes. First the clan member will strike 2 times, then 4, 8, 16, 32 and finally 64. This damage forcibly closes 64 tenketsu, stopping the chakra flow of the opponent. This then limits their opponent’s ability to use jutsu.

Description:
Hakkeshou Kaiten is a Taijutsu technique unique to the Hyuuga bloodline using the Juuken. Kaiten is a special technique passed down through the main family line. Kaiten takes advantage of several of the unique abilities of the Byakugan eye. Byakugan gives the clan member an almost complete 360 degree view of their surroundings. This allows the member to see all angles of attack. If an attack is near, the clan member will release a large of amount of chakra from their tenketsu. The member then begins to spin like a top, creating a whirling vortex that can nullify almost any attack.

Kinobori no Waza, the art of tree climbing serves a dual purpose. Taking part in Kinobori Shugyou (Tree Climbing Training) helps a ninja learn how to focus their chakra. It also teaches the ninja how to run up trees and walk on vertical walls. The training helps the ninja learn how to focus just the right amount of chakra to a particular part of their body. The amount needed to climb is small but it must be precise. The feet are regarded as the hardest location to master chakra focusing. So by gaining the art of this skill, the ninja will have any jutsu available (theoretically) because they will be able to focus their chakra as needed

The manner in which the ninja shadows their target can differ, from the basic hiding under a nearby object, to using a jutsu to turn oneself invisible. History

Birth and Childhood

Rei was born into the main branch of the Hyuuga clan in Konohagakure no Sato, an only daughter. Being of the main branch had no real perks, and it actually made befriending people outside the clan nearly impossible her first few years. The clan consisted of many elder men, and little children, so finding a playmate was difficult. Rei usually ended up sitting outside, enjoying the weather, or taking on early training. The elders of the clan had high expectations for her, not only because she was one of the few youngsters of the Hyuuga clan, but she would need to be capable of protecting the secrets of their clan in the future. Training seemed endless and tiring, but over time, Rei adapted to it. To make the situation more enjoyable, she's request training outside the dojo, and take on more challenging opponents. As her Byakugan and Juuken evolved, her progress set high standards for the other children of the clan. Despite how impressing her skills were becoming, the clan elders showed no favoritism and pushed her further each day.

She was approaching the age that most children of the village would be enrolled in the academy, and training began to slow down. Now that she had an outline of what was expected of her and the elders were sure she would follow the guidelines put before her, they began to focus more of their attentions on the others, and planning for future generations, but Rei didn't seem to mind. In fact, eventually, she started taking the time to train on her own, improving the skills she already knew, and adding some twists to give her own feel to the techniques. Overall, she was growing more and more each day, learning and progressing.

Liberty

Starting the academy seemed like no big deal, but Rei couldn't help but be nervous around all the unfamiliar faces. After all, she was secluded in the Hyuuga clan quarters most her life. All the new people seemed friendly enough, but she wasn't sure how to communicate with other children just yet, she was still accustom to her elders presence. Soon enough, some fellow classmates began to show interest for the young and quiet girl. She didn't become too particularly close to any of them, but she considered them friends. The girls always seemed to be talking about the boys, and the boys always seemed to be showing off for the girls. Rei found the fact quite funny rather than interesting, and seemed to ignore most the gossip. She found she got along with boys more than she did the girls, for they weren't as catty as the females, and Rei didn't really have many girly tendencies, lacking relativity to fellow girls. This didn't serve too much a problem anyways, for Rei preferred solitude over the company of either.

Aside from the social part, school was simple for Rei. It was just another training session to her, another day of learning and improving. She passed all her tests with ease, and learned every basic jutsu taught at the academy successfully. It didn't take long for the years to slip by, and before she knew it, she was graduating with one of the highest scores in her class. Dedication paid off.

Reward

As every other ninja, the day she graduated was the day she received her headband, a reward for all her hard work. Training picked back up again in the Hyuuga clan, and Rei has not yet been assigned to a team. However, she doesn't mind training in the dojo and perimeter of her clan quarters, and believes she can strive to become just as successful as any other Genin, team or not. Unfortunately for Rei, the Hyuuga clan elders see her extreme independence as a fault, and hope that she is assigned a team for the sake that she learn how to work with others.
